Upper Peninsula Side-by-Side Classic

The Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club will once again host this much-beloved Father's Day Weekend shoot for 120 registered shooters, with hundreds more attracted by the many exhibitors of fine guns and accessories.

Friday is open shooting on all venues.  There are five side events for all comers, and they will vary from year to year, with the club making interesting and challenging shooting situations.

The competition Saturday and Sunday for registered shooters includes 120 sporting clays targets, two pigeon ring competitions of 20 birds each, and a flurry, which consists of 76 targets thrown in 2 ½ minutes.  Shooters may use a partner to load the gun or use two or more partners who load and pass guns to the shooters. Scoring is by Lewis Class, and winners of classes A through E are awarded a vintage sxs, with the top classes picking first.  More vintage guns are given away by raffle along with other prizes. A new Arrieta custom built for the event every year is given away by drawing to one registered shooter by Wingshooting Adventures owner Jack Jasma.
