Gamekeeper Range Bag from CSMC

CSMC’s Gamekeeper Range Bag

The Connecticut Shotgun Mfg. Co. catalog (and now Website) has long been a treasure trove of shotgunning ephemera, with an entertaining mix of the practical, the hard-to-get and the truly arcane. The company carries a dizzying array, from Model 21 parts to multitudes of tools, gauges, books, buttplates, wood and metal finishes, cases, cleaning supplies, gunroom accessories, Damascus-steel knives, shotshell paperweights, tie tacks . . . and scads of useful gear for the range and field. CSMC’s Gamekeeper canvas and leather goods fit into the latter category, and the new Gamekeeper Range Bag highlights the quality and value of the line.
Made from a lustrous, deep-brown leather, double-stitched and with brass rivets and hardware, the Range Bag is built to last under the load of about as many shells as you’d care to carry. With a main compartment measuring 9-1/2" (w) x 9-1/2" (d) x 15" (l), this bag will bear up under about 20 boxes of shells with a comfortable dual-loop handle of rolled leather. (If your porter complains, it also comes with a shoulder strap.) The handsome outer storage pouch is similarly large, with a messenger-bag-style fold-over flap embossed with a “Connecticut Shotgun Mfg. Co.” Gamekeeper logo.
At $279, these range bags exemplify the durability and value of so many CSMC wares.
