Boss Trio from David Sinnerton
London gunmaker David Sinnerton (see "The Best Finish Last," Sept/Oct '05) has completed a trio of 28-bore Boss-type over/unders, the first O/Us to bear his name as an independent gunmaker. Sinnerton, originally trained at Purdey's, is regarded as perhaps the premier finisher to the British gun trade and in recent years has been making guns under his own name. The O/Us, which each took Sinnerton and his team of craftsmen about 1,800 hours over three years to complete, have 28" barrels, weigh 5 pounds and feature inertia-regulated mechanical single triggers to the maker's design.
They were engraved in Italy by Creative Art with game scenes of quail against a backdrop of lush foliate scroll. In addition to over/unders-which apart from the single triggers are of the traditional Boss design-Sinnerton builds "best" side-by-sides to Holland & Holland and Beesley/Purdey designs. He is currently at work on a pair of 10-gauge Holland-action guns. For more information, contact Sinnerton at 01144-1798-813849; Davidsinnerton @aol.com.
