The 'gun sisters': poised to take American by storm
By Larry Brown
There is only one 500-pound gorilla in the world of Italian double guns, and that is Beretta. Not only does the company make a variety of doubles under its own name-spanning the market from high-volume entry-level guns to custom pieces-but it also has acquired several other formerly independent gunmakers (such as Franchi), which add quite a few more doubles to the conglomerate's total.
Then there are, of course, the strictly high-end Italian makers, like Fabbri, FAMARS and Piotti-small companies whose production totals run more in the dozens than the thousands but whose products appeal to clients looking for high-quality bespoke guns.
