Bird Works

Another bird season is upon us. Here in Northern Vermont, I soon will be searching for grouse with my young English cocker, Havoc, also known as the H Dog and the BWD (Black Weiner of Death; yes, he's black, notably long in the body and a bundle of energy in game cover). The four titles I have chosen to review here all deal with bird hunting: two works on dogs, an art book that includes paintings of upland gunning, and a specialized guide to wingshooting. They ought to prime you for the good times to come.
