Sage Grouse Blues
It is the essence of the West, a symbol of the big empty, a resident of the sagebrush sea. Ask a native Westerner to name the wildlife of the sage and you'll likely get two species as answers: pronghorn antelope and sage grouse. Sage grouse are the gamebirds of the high sagebrush deserts of the West, that sweep of country from Western Colorado to Eastern California and north into Idaho, Washington, Montana and Saskatchewan. Sage grouse country stretches as far east as the Dakotas and as far south as Southern Utah.
