SportDOG Creates Conservation Fund
SportDOG Brand has created a Conservation Fund program to lend support to its current conservation-support goals and future conservation initiatives.
The SportDOG Brand Conservation Fund extends the company's current support of well-established conservation groups such as Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever and the Ruffed Grouse Society, as well as numerous other grass-roots level conservation projects.
"The Conservation Fund is a reaffirmation of SportDOG Brand's high level of commitment to wildlife, sportsmen and sporting-dog companions who accompany us in the field," said Gary Williams, SportDOG Brand Conservation Fund Coordinator. "The goals of this fund are in line with the goals of our outdoors-oriented employees and customers."
A key component of the new fund will be four $5,000 grants, which will be awarded annually by the Conservation Fund's board of directors. Grant winners will be chosen from applicants who are able to secure a matching contribution from their respective conservation organization and/or a matching contribution from a sponsoring state or federal resource management agency. Matching contributions may consist of services and/or labor, supplies, materials, equipment or funds.
"These grants will fund wildlife habitat and game population-enhancement projects and initiatives that ensure wildlife continues to thrive. This ensures sportsmen continue to enjoy the pursuit of upland and waterfowl species for generations to come," Williams added.
Also under the umbrella of the new program, the company is introducing an annual SportDOG Conservationist of the Year Award. This award will recognize the SportDOG Brand product owner who has been proactive in establishing successful conservation and/or habitat-enhancement initiatives.
