I have written Rendell several times. He hasn't even replied. Other actions of his convince me he is in bed with the PETA crowd.
The article above is dated Aug 2007 - what is the current (end of Oct 2007) status? This is the first of this I'm hearing out here in Idaho...would be interested in preventing this type of thing from gaining a foothold anywhere.
This issue is still being debated. For the latest update, visit the Website of the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance: www.ussportsmen.org/Hounding.cfm.
Sporting dog owners in a number of states - Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Oklahoma, and California among them - have been seriously threatened by proposed legislation that requires mandatory spay and neutering, by limitations on breeding and sales of dogs, and rule-making that can only be described as harassment.
A new organization, the American Sporting Dog Alliance has recently emerged to give dog-owning sportsmen a political voice. I urge dog owners to review the ASDA website at: http://www.americansportingdogalliance.org/

I just recently got an English setter pup from a well known breeder in NY. They lost a couple pups from a pravo outbreak they feel think came from unnecessary trips to the vet because of their law. Concrete runs and mandatory exercise (training doesn't count as exercise) will drive my PA trainer out of business. This is a new attack from the anti hunters and Ed Rendell is in thick with them.
That's why I moved from Pennsylvania to Montana. Pennsylvania was a great state with proud hunting traditions. Now they elect anti-hunters like Rendell, and will vote for whatever liberal democrat they can. It's all very sad. Eric
