Going Places
El Albercial
There is an allure to shooting in Spain. You think of castles, bullfights, Don Quixote and fleets of birds hurtling past as beaters urge them over the rocky hillsides. Many feel that this type of shooting has no equal. In fact, Sir Joseph Nickerson, who in modern times exceeded some of Lord Ripon's totals, often was drawn to Spain because the shooting was simply better there than in England. The quarry that drew Nickerson and so many others to Spain is the red-legged partridge, Alectoris rufa intercedens.
