The Big 10
The pros and cons of the 10-gauge
By Robert I. Egbert
The ducks weren't really moving that morning, and I was seriously considering picking up the dozen or so decoys I'd scattered on the pond in front of me when I heard the distinctive honk of a Canada goose. No goose was likely to come into the small pothole I was set up on, but I'd seen a few fly over, and this one sounded closer. I quickly broke open the Richland Arms 10-gauge over/under and exchanged the Bismuth No. 4s for a couple of loads of steel BBBs. I was glad to be shooting a double and not have to fool with a magazine, as I'd barely gotten the two new shells into the breech when the honker came into view.
