Gunning with Los Gauchos
Mixed-bag hunting in Argentina with Los Gauchos Outfitters
By Clair Kofoed
A chill buffeting wind blows across the open land as a wavering line of birds rows steadily against the lofty current. From their high vantage point, the world is simple: grass, sky, horizon and wind. In the vast open, the line of birds somehow adds a spark of life to an [img 1 right caption=Ashy-headed geese about to commit to a decoy spread.]otherwise empty vista. Friendly black & white forms appear on the grass ahead, and the birds turn toward them.
On the ground the wind feels like a gale as it makes the fence wires sing and the short grass ripple like water.
