Are Shotshell Pellets Just Little Bullets?

Readers keep up a lively correspondence regard- ing their interests in both shotshell pellet behavior and pellet performance upon arrival at the target. Why? For one thing, this always has been an area of debate among bird hunters. But from a more contemporary stand-point, due to continuing increases in the costs of metals, knowledgeable shotgunners are anticipating reduced antimony levels in some lead shotshell products. They are worrying that softer shot won't be as lethal for hunting or as effective for breaking claybirds.
