Nontoxic-Shot Concerns
By Tom Roster
Every time I cover nontoxic shot in this column, I receive a flood of e-mails and phone calls from readers. Most of this correspondence concerns using nontoxic shot at clay-target ranges and potential damage to shotguns. I'm going to touch on a few of those concerns here, many of them generated from my columns in Septem-ber/October '05 ("Steel Shot for Clays") and January/Feb-ruary '06 ("The Nontoxic Explosion").
Shooting Ranges
A number of clay-target ranges across the US have been shut down or are facing the threat of closure because of state or local government concerns regarding lead deposition.
