F.lli Piotti
The gold standard of Italian 'bests'
By Clair Kofoed
About 25 years ago a friend had occasion to buy his dream gun. It was a classic over- extended transaction in which he scrimped, saved and traded off several guns to get what he really wanted: a Piotti. At the time, William Larkin Moore was the sole US importer; however, my friend acquired his used gun from another dealer, Mike De Chevrieux of Fine Firearms in Hailey, Idaho. I was lucky enough to steal away the side-by-side 12-gauge and examine it closely. The fit and finish were very good, the balance perfect, the barrels beautiful and the wood outstanding.
