Controlling Power-Charge Variations
A high percentage of SSM readers reload. This was revealed clearly in the survey I ran in this column in 2004 and has been reinforced by the fact that fully 25 percent of the inquiries I receive concern reloading issues. I also am happy to report that most of the questions I receive don't involve simple issues like which reloading tool to buy or recipe recommendations, but rather they reveal concerns for precision and quality in reloaded shotshells. For example, SSM's 16-gauge shooters aren't just interested in reloading the 16 gauge; they want to know how to assemble the very best loads and some very specific loads given available components.
