Why a Parker?

Another good question from a reader: Why does everybody fall over at the prospect of having a Parker gun? Why are they so famous? I realize that amounts to two questions, but the answers are so intertwined that they might as well be one. Taking them in turn . . . . Anyone who can recognize a nicely built gun-and knows anything about the history of American gunmaking-will have to admit that Parker stands out from the rest. All American guns were factory made, assembled by hand, of course, but there's a difference between hand-assembled and handmade.
