The Gold Medal Concours d'Elegance of Fine Guns features shotguns and rifles-new and old, from around the world-that are panel-judged in a variety of classes and categories. Gun collectors have diverse interests. Some collect by gauge, caliber, ignition system, action type and so forth, whereas others collect by country of origin, maker or engraver. Nearly all will admit that the search-and discovery-is often more rewarding than the acquisition. A vintage car hidden away in a barn, an antique chest uncovered at a garage sale, an old gun remembered in a friend's attic .
