Engraving Confab Reaches New Heights
By Clair Kofoed
As mentioned last year (see "American Engraving Gets a Boost," Game & Gun Gazette, Nov/Dec '05), Glendo Corp., a manufacturer of the GRS line of engraving tools in Emporia, Kansas, is leading the way in promoting fine engraving in the US. The company has partnered with Emporia State University to offer the first degree in engraving arts, and it has brought some of the best talent in the world to its Emporia facility as teachers for back-to-back, weeklong Grand Masters classes.
Between the two sessions, students share portfolios, ideas and techniques with the instructors during a weekend retreat.
