Patterning Your Shotgun
Pattern-testing seems to turn off many shotgunners. Descriptions of the process often make it seem like a time-consuming and complicated undertaking. And, judging from frequent communications with shotgunners on topics that have patterning results at their roots, I am forced to conclude that many shotgunners are undertaking pattern-testing incorrectly. First and foremost, recognize that pattern-testing is absolutely necessary to truly determine a shotgun's and choke system's performance limitations with various loads.
