Oh, the Humanity of It All

Major Nathaniel Peabody (USA, ret.), you may be surprised to learn, has a consuming interest in the welfare of youngsters. His interest is such that he convinced three men to join him and volunteer for a humanitarian endeavor. In Iowa pheasants were destroying local corn crops destined to be fed to Holsteins that, in turn, would produce milk. When the Major discovered that milk was the same stuff that small children drink, he and the three men who shared his altruistic sentiments traveled to that state.
