The Nontoxic Explosion

Guess what? As we enter 2006, there are now 16 nontoxic-shot types that are either in the approval stage, currently being marketed or at least already patented. Pretty amazing, eh? If you're a waterfowl hunter, you're going to need help, because with such a plethora of pellet types, confusion reigns supreme. Within the space limitations of this column, it would be impossible to do a thorough rundown of all 16 nontoxics. So for details, please refer to the accompanying table comparing lead- and nontoxic-shot properties along with associated costs.
